Color Blocking

  1. Color blocking makes for a wonderful and unique page every time. It helps you get more on a page without having it look cluttered. Also the layout is already prepared for you so you don't have to toil over a new layout idea. One color blocking template offers you 8 different layouts for 12 X 12 and 4 for 8 1/2 X 11. You can turn the template with the top up, left, right, or down then flip the template over and do the same thing.
  2. Use light pencil marks on your background paper to represent the corners of the individual boxes on the template. Put the template on your matting paper and make light pencil marks where you want to cut the mat.
  3. This is a great way to use up left over stickers, embellishments and scraps of paper as the individual boxes are smaller.
